Principal’s Report
Dear Parents and Community Members,
Book Week at Ashdale Primary
Book Week is a much-loved feature of the Ashdale Primary calendar — a time where we come together to celebrate our rich and vibrant approach to literacy and literature. At the heart of our school is our library — both literally and metaphorically. It is a central hub that offers direction, support, inspiration, and a quiet refuge for both students and staff.
This year’s Book Week theme, “Book Yourself an Adventure,” has sparked imagination and excitement across the school. We’ve enjoyed a wide range of activities that have brought stories to life and celebrated the joy of reading and the power of books.
Our library, and the value we place on literature, truly embody our school motto: “A School of Excellence.”
A Fresh Start for Our School Canteen
Our school community is once again enjoying the benefits of having our own school-based canteen. One of the key criteria in selecting new canteen management was a commitment to preparing fresh, healthy food on a regular basis. We’re pleased to share that Aiko, our new canteen manager, has fully embraced this vision.
Aiko and her team have introduced a well-balanced and nutritious menu that is not only appealing but also reasonably priced — a win for students and parents alike.
The delicious desserts served at the Book Week morning tea were a perfect example of Aiko’s passion for quality food. As you can see, they were an absolute treat!
Semester One Reports and Goal Setting
Once you have reviewed your child’s report, we encourage you to take the opportunity to work together to set reasonable and meaningful goals for Semester Two. Every student has the potential to improve in specific areas, and identifying these areas — along with clear steps to support progress — is key to ongoing success.
Semester One student reports will be available on Connect from 2:00pm on Friday, 27th June.
Enjoy the School Holidays!
Regards
Tony Watson

School Voluntary Contributions (including P & C Contribution)
Have you paid the voluntary contribution $60/student and P & C Levy $40/family?
This week the Reminder of Outstanding Payments form was sent home with your child if any payments were outstanding.
We encourage payments via the Qkr! app – this is a very simple and quick process and alleviates the need for busy parents to come into the office or send money in with students.
Instructions on how to download the App are available on our website from the link below or see the Qkr! Tip article below.
- Remember to change the profile (year, LAs etc) for your children when first accessing Qkr! for the year
- Alternative payment methods (cash/eftpos/credit card) are available through the front office.
- Families may pay the Voluntary Contribution in instalments.
