Principal’s Report
Dear Parents and Community Members,
Ashdale Primary School is an integral part of the fabric of the Darch Community. Nothing is more rewarding than after school watching the community congregating and enjoying the school grounds. Understandably, many parents and caregivers utilise this fabric to help manage their own busy schedules. Ashdale Primary Students wait safely in the school grounds for older Ashdale Secondary siblings who arrive at 3:20pm.
Usually, this arrangement is carried out smoothly, without any problems, but on occasions it does not go smoothly. Therefore, if students are continually referred to the office or need to have their behaviour corrected for acting inappropriately, we will ask parents/caregivers to make other arrangements.
Staffing Changes – Term 4
We will be saying goodbye to Ms Summer Alexander who is expecting her first child in the very near future. Summer is a favourite with the students and staff, and we can’t wait to meet her little one. We wish Summer and her partner Chloe, all the best.
Mrs Sasha McGinnity is on a well-deserved long service leave break for term 4.
We welcome in their respective teaching positions, Ms Danielle Johnston (LA 14) and Mrs Anneke Alberink (LA 15, Mon-Tues and alternative Fridays).
Regards
Tony

Tournament of Minds
Congratulations to our Year 5 students who participated in the Tournament of Minds competition, at ECU on Saturday, 31st August. This year we had two teams competing. Each team worked together to solve a Language Literature and Arts Challenge without adult guidance and created a performance, along with costumes and props, to explain their solution.
On the day the team were also presented with an unseen Spontaneous Challenge to solve and present.
They showed wonderful teamwork, enthusiasm and exceptional positive communication throughout the challenge. There was lots of fun and laughs all along the way. The teams should be very proud of what they achieved together.
Chaplain's Chat
We are nearing the end of Term 3, and I am enjoying the change of seasons. It reminds me of how our lives have different seasons, from childhood to adulthood and raising families ourselves. Some seasons in our lives can be hard, whilst others can be carefree. It is good to know that there is help available during tough seasons in our lives. I have learnt that it is so helpful to reach out for support during those seasons and to know that we are not alone.
A local community resource that has come to my attention is:

School Voluntary Contributions (including P & C Contribution)
Have you paid the voluntary contribution $60/student and P & C Levy $40/family?
We encourage payments via the Qkr! app – this is a very simple and quick process and alleviates the need for busy parents to come into the office or send money in with students.
Instructions on how to download the App are available on our website from the link below or see the Qkr! Tip article below.
- Remember to change the profile (year, LAs etc) for your children when first accessing Qkr! for the year
- Alternative payment methods (cash/eftpos/credit card) are available through the front office.
- Families may pay the Voluntary Contribution in instalments.
